"Thank you to Veuve Cliquot for sending us your delicious Rose' Champagne so that we too may celebrate the 200th anniversary of the world’s first blended rosé with you as-well-as Valentine's Day".

This year the Mr. and I are celebrating our second Valentine's Day together as husband and wife. Tonight, we will be celebrating in a non-traditional way since we will be on the road traveling to our New York destination, but you can be sure my bottle of Veuve Clicquot Rose', two Champagne glasses, cheese, crackers, and some fruit will be traveling with us to celebrate upon arrival.  Our dinner celebration will be tomorrow night, but that's alright by me!

Do I need to mention that the shortbread lip cookies I used in the photo won't be making the travel to New York with us? The Mr. and I devoured them, along with the confectionary hearts, as our pre-Valentine's day dessert.

Also in the photo, I picked up some pink peonies and cut them short enough to fit into vintage juice glasses that belonged to my husband's grandfather, who also has the same initials of my husband BHD (BDH) is on the juice glass.

More about Veuve Clicquot's Rose Champagne from Veuve Clicquot:

Widowed at age 27, Barbe Nicole Ponsardin (later called Madame Clicquot) took over her late husband’s champagne business and became known as, “La Grande Dame de la Champagne.” She is credited with transforming Veuve Clicquot into one of the world’s greatest Champagne Houses through her audacious spirit and innovative vision. This year, Veuve Clicquot celebrates the 200th anniversary of one of her greatest innovations—the first blended Rosé Champagne.

Still created through Madame Clicquot’s assemblage blending process, more than two centuries later, Veuve Clicquot Rosé remains one of the brand’s most vibrant offerings. Whether toasting with a loved one or hosting a gathering of friends, no matter what your Valentine’s celebrations may be, Veuve Clicquot has a Rosé Champagne to fit your every need.
